"Kids Derby Day at the Docks" at the club this saturday the 14th. It's a fishing derby on the docks that starts at 7am with awards at 12:00pm along with bbq hot dogs etc. Family friendly, open to the public, learn to fish.
It is with sad news I write to you all today. Steve Williams one of our oldest members and Past President from 1985 has passed on. Steve was a lifelong member of the club since he was a little kid and would always bring up fond memories from his childhood of good times at the club. Steve was a serious fisherman and just as serious about keeping things at the club ship shape. His sweet tooth earned him the name of "Cookie Bandit" back in the early days and more recently we referred to him simply as "Cowboy" a nickname he enjoyed greatly. Steve was the MC at our Marlin Club awards for decades and always had a light heart and a joke up his sleeve. He is dearly missed already. We are having a celebration of Life for Steve's Friends and Family hosted here at the club. The event takes place on March 10th at 11AM. Please bring any old pictures or memories you would like to share. I have attached a few old fishing photos courtesy of Steve's longtime friend Walt Gutjahr, The event flyer and a great shot of "Cowboy" on his ranch.
We hope to see you here for this event to share your fond memories of Steve.
